Devon Rex is a breed that was born from a natural mutation. The first Devon Rex, named Kirlee, was born in Devonshire, England in 1960. His unique curly coat and elfish appearance instantly caught the attention of breeders, who decided to develop a new breed.
Appearance
Devon Rex are truly unique cats in terms of their appearance. They have a short, ripple-like coat that is soft and silky to the touch. Compared to other breeds, they have little undercoat, which makes them warm and pleasant to touch, and they also tend to cause fewer allergies.
These cats are medium-sized with a petite, muscular build. They have large, low-set ears and large, wide-open eyes. Their profile is distinctive - they have a short nose, high-set cheekbones, and a strongly elongated lower body line. These features give them a unique "elfish" look.
Character
